Matthew Reysen is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Mississippi, affiliated with the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Purdue University (2004). His research focuses on social influences on cognitive processes, particularly human memory and eyewitness testimony. He has also explored 'reality construction' and the Verbal Overshadowing Effect, which examines how verbal descriptions of perpetrators impact memory accuracy in line-up identifications.
