Matthew R. D'Angelo

Matthew R. D'Angelo DNP, CRNA, MHPE is an Assistant Professor and Deputy Program Director at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Graduate School of Nursing, with a focus on the Nurse Anesthesia Program. He is affiliated with institutions including the University of Maryland and Georgetown University through his education and clinical practice.

Dr. D'Angelo’s research centers on blood volume quantification, fluid resuscitation, and trauma anesthesiology, with funded studies evaluating perioperative fluid administration strategies. He also contributes to military medicine through roles as a Subject Matter Expert for the expeditionary resuscitation surgical team (ERST) and clinical practice at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

His career spans over 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, including service in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He currently serves as Assistant Chief Nurse of the 80th Training Command and as the sole anesthesia provider for Expeditionary Resuscitation Surgical Team-5 in East Africa.
