Matthew Oser, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a physician-scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He specializes in thoracic oncology with research focusing on small cell lung cancer (SCLC) using CRISPR/Cas9 functional genomics and genetically-engineered mouse models to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities.
His laboratory investigates epigenetic regulation of neuroendocrine plasticity in SCLC and develops novel targeted therapies. Research approaches include in vivo CRISPR editing to understand how tumor suppressor loss and epigenetic modifications influence SCLC subtypes and immunogenicity.
Dr. Oser received the Damon Runyon Clinical Investigator Award in 2019, recognizing his innovative approaches to cancer treatment. He maintains an active research group at Dana-Farber seeking postdoctoral fellows and technicians to advance SCLC research.
