Matthew Manierre is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Clarkson University. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Sociology (2016), M.A. in Sociology (2012), and B.A. in Sociology, Summa Cum Laude (2010) from the University of Delaware and Eastern Connecticut State University, respectively.
Research Interests: Manierre's work focuses on
- Successful Aging: Challenging binary classifications of aging, analyzing intersections of race, class, and gender in health outcomes.
- Health Communication: Investigating gender disparities in health information seeking and resource-based health communication strategies.
- Survey Methodology: Studying incentive structures for survey participation and bias mitigation in web-based data collection.
Recent Publications (2013–2016) span interdisciplinary domains, combining sociological theory with empirical research in health studies, educational sociology, and survey science. Key trends include technology-mediated data collection, inequality frameworks, and methodological innovation in social research.
