Matthew Lockwood is a Professor of Energy and Climate Policy at the University of Sussex Business School, affiliated with SPRU - Science Policy Research Unit. He serves as Co-Director of the Sussex Energy Group and Co-Director of the Energy and Climate Policy MSc program. His expertise spans the political economy of climate and energy policy, with a focus on the UK in comparative contexts. Prior roles include Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and Head of the Climate Change Team at the Institute of Development Studies.
Lockwood holds a DPhil, MPhil (Econ), and BA from the University of Oxford, plus a PGCertHE from the University of Sussex.
