معرفی
Matthew Lippert is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Long Island University's Brooklyn campus. He earned his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Yale University and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to joining LIU, he held postdoctoral positions at the University of Amsterdam, the University of Crete, the Technion, and the University of Kentucky.
Research interests: Dr. Lippert specializes in String Theory and its applications through Gauge/Gravity Duality to both condensed matter and nuclear physics. His work includes holographic models of the quantum Hall effect, inhomogeneous/disordered states, and strongly interacting anyons. Recent collaborative research at LIU explores astrophysical systems like binary black holes and neutron star collisions as probes for quantum gravity.
Education:
- B.S. in Physics and Mathematics, Yale University
- Ph.D. in Physics, University of California Santa Barbara
Publications: His research spans holographic duality applications in condensed matter (e.g., sliding stripes, anyonic fluids), gravitational wave astrophysics, and quantum gravity. Key themes include topological states, strongly correlated systems, and holographic modeling of high-energy phenomena.
