Matthew Links is an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, affiliated with the College of Agriculture and Bioresources and the Department of Animal and Poultry Science. He is currently on sabbatical leave from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. His research focuses on microbiome dynamics, bioinformatics, genomics, and metagenomics, with applications in plant and animal health.

- B.Sc. Biochemistry & Computer Science, University of Saskatchewan (1996-2002)
Research Interests: Dr. Links’ work integrates computational methods with microbiology to study microbial communities in agricultural and clinical settings. Key areas include microbial interactions in plant seeds, pathogen genomics, and bioinformatics tools for metagenomic analysis.

- Governor General’s Gold Medal (2014)
Grants and Funding: His research is supported by organizations such as the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
