Matthew Levy is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics (LSE), specializing in Behavioural Economics, Health Economics, and Experimental Economics. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and an S.B. from MIT. His research focuses on understanding complex intertemporal choices, particularly in health behaviours like exercise and smoking, and financial decision-making such as retirement savings.
He co-directs the STICERD Psychology and Economics Initiative and serves as a Programme Associate for the STICERD Theory Group. His teaching includes courses on Behavioural Economics (EC310), Quantitative Economics Projects (EC331), and Microeconomic Theory for Research Students (EC537).
Levy previously held roles at Harvard University as a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in Health Policy Research. His work bridges theoretical and experimental approaches to address real-world economic challenges.
