Dr. Matthew Kenzie is an experimental particle physicist and Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Department of Physics, part of the Cavendish High Energy Physics Group. He has been a core member of the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) Collaboration since 2014, focusing on CP violation studies in B meson decays to probe New Physics beyond the Standard Model. He holds an STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowship and an ERC Starter Grant, which fund his research group's activities.
- Ernest Rutherford Fellow (STFC)
- Fellow of Clare College, University of Cambridge
His research interests include precision measurements of CP violation, charmless B→VV decays, and constraints on the CKM unitarity triangle angle γ. He leads projects analyzing LHCb data to explore high-energy-scale physics and test Standard Model predictions.
His grants support two PhD students and two post-doctoral researchers. Dr. Kenzie received his PhD from Imperial College London (2010-2014), studying Higgs boson decay to photons at the CMS experiment under Prof. Paul Dauncey.
