Dr. Matthew Kenna is a Research Fellow and PhD Student at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) within the University of Queensland. His work bridges neuroscience and neurotechnology, focusing on optogenetic techniques and neuronal activity analysis. He investigates memory encoding mechanisms and develops advanced tools for neural circuit control using organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).
His research interests include optogenetics, neural engineering, and biomedical optics. Recent studies explore device stability in optogenetic applications and spatial localization of neurons using multi-OLED systems. His publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to understanding neural circuits and developing neurotechnology.
Dr. Kenna has not yet been associated with student advisement or listed grants, though his contributions to QBI’s research infrastructure and collaborations are implied. His lab affiliations are tied to QBI’s core facilities.
