Matthew Keblis

Matthew Keblis is a Professor and Department Head of Management at the United States Coast Guard Academy. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan (1995), an M.S. in Operations Research from Illinois Institute of Technology (1989), and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago (1986). Prior to joining the Coast Guard Academy, he served on faculties at Texas A&M University, Macquarie University, University of Dallas, and University of Wyoming. His research focuses on dynamic pricing, inventory management, and workforce planning, with notable contributions to supply chain coordination and strategic decision-making under uncertainty.

He has consulted for organizations including Amazon, Toyota, and the U.S. Navy, applying operations research principles to real-world challenges. Dr. Keblis is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has received the Center for Advanced Studies Summer Fellowship in 2021 and 2022. His teaching portfolio includes courses on strategic management, operations research, and supply chain management. Recent research highlights include analyzing bullwhip effects in supply chains and misinformation’s role in modern warfare.

His publication trends span logistics optimization, inventory control, and workforce scheduling, with a focus on quantitative models for operational efficiency.
