Brent B. Moritz

Dr. Brent B. Moritz is Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at Penn State's Smeal College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Management Science from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University.

His research examines behavioral operations, supply chain disruptions, procurement strategies, and inventory decision-making. Dr. Moritz received the 2024 Best Associate Editor award from Decision Sciences Journal for constructive evaluations and thought leadership. His industry experience includes operations roles at BorgWarner, Eaton, and Parker Hannifin with international assignments in Mexico, England, and Germany.

Recent publications investigate psychological factors in inventory decisions, behavioral aspects of bullwhip effect, procurement transparency, and supply chain resilience during COVID-19. Methodologically, his work employs experimental designs to understand cognitive processes in operations contexts.
