Matthew Jaskot is a Professor of Practice and Lecturer in the School of Music at the College of the Holy Cross. His roles include teaching courses in music theory, composition, and historical surveys, as well as serving as an accompanist for college choirs and coordinator of campus wedding music. He holds a D.M.A. and M.M. from the University of Maryland and a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.
His research focuses on contemporary music composition and performance, blending classical traditions with 20th/21st-century innovations. Notable works include the grant-supported song-cycle Close and Apart (2019) and the chamber suite Dense, Angular, Nuanced, Cosmic Energy (2019). He has performed with ensembles like the Kronos Quartet and Boston Musica Viva, and his solo piano work Rejuvenated appears on Navona Records' Flare compilation.
