Matthew J. Kyan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at York University's Lassonde School of Engineering. His research addresses the efficient organization, management, and analysis of media-rich datasets while developing intuitive human-computer and computer-mediated interaction modes.

Prior to York University, he was instrumental in establishing Ryerson University's Centre for Interactive Multimedia Information Mining (CIM2) in 2008.
