Matthew Herring

Matthew Herring is a Research Fellow at the University of Skövde, affiliated with the School of Bioscience. His work focuses on inflammation, systems biology, and protein interactions, particularly in the context of inflammasome dynamics and cancer research.

Research Interests: Dr. Herring investigates molecular mechanisms of inflammation, emphasizing NLRP3 inflammasome functionality in diseases like pancreatic cancer. His projects utilize Cell Painting assays, time-resolved analysis, and systems biology approaches to uncover phenotypic fingerprints and regulatory pathways in macrophages and tumor cells.

Publications: Recent work includes studies on inflammasome kinetics, DLG2 expression in cancer, and invasive species monitoring. Collaborations span immunology, oncology, and ecology disciplines.

Labs and Teams: He contributes to the Systems Biology project (2017-2024) and is part of multidisciplinary teams in bioscience and cancer research, working with co-authors like Eva Särndahl, Alexander Persson, and Katarina Ejeskär.
