Matthew Hanson

Dr. Matthew Hanson serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he holds dual leadership roles as Chief of Otology at University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHD) and Kings County Hospital Center (KCHC), and Director of the Otolaryngology Service at KCHC.

His educational background includes:

Dr. Hanson maintains active clinical and research focus on balance disorders, facial nerve pathologies, skull base diseases including acoustic neuroma treatment, and hearing disorders with specialization in cochlear implantation. His lifelong connection to deafness—stemming from congenitally deaf paternal grandparents and over thirty deaf relatives—informs his professional commitment to auditory health.
