Matthew Gribble is an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He serves as the Associate Chief for Research in Occupational, Environmental and Climate Medicine (OECM), co-Director and lead academic partner of a Tribally Led Center for Oceans and Human Health, and founding Director of the UCSF Center for Oceans & Human Health. His research integrates environmental epidemiology, ecotoxicology, and environmental psychology to address complex environmental health challenges.

Dr. Gribble's work focuses on climate change health impacts, marine toxin exposure, drinking water safety, and environmental justice. His publications reveal expertise in harmful algal blooms, gene-environment interactions, and planetary health frameworks.
Recent research trends include: analyzing climate-ocean-health linkages through global case studies; developing tribally led monitoring systems for marine toxins; and quantifying metabolic impacts of environmental contaminants like arsenic and PFAS using biostatistical models.
