Matthew G Maron is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Quinnipiac University, where he has served since 2015. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1987, he brings over 10 years of industry experience as a tax manager at a Fortune 500 corporation and 12+ years of prior collegiate teaching expertise to his role.

His expertise centers on Taxation, with deep specialization in Individual and Business Taxation. Professor Maron has pioneered adaptive learning integration in online accounting courses through Quinnipiac Online and coordinates the university's VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, which provides free tax preparation services for low-income community members while offering students hands-on experience. His teaching excellence has earned multiple nominations for Quinnipiac's Excellence in Teaching Award.
Professor Maron actively engages with media as a tax policy expert, recently providing analysis on self-employed tax filing procedures for January 2024 publications. His community-focused initiatives like VITA have assisted over 150 local residents with tax preparations, demonstrating commitment to practical student learning and public service.
He leads Quinnipiac's VITA program as a core community engagement initiative, where students gain real-world tax preparation experience while serving vulnerable populations. His office is located in Faculty Office Building 112 (Mail Drop: SB-DNF), and he teaches courses including AC 211 Financial Accounting and AC 431 Federal Income Taxation of Individuals.
