The University of Adelaideمعرفی
Dr Matthew Dry is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He completed his PhD in Psychology at the University of Adelaide in 2007 and held a post-doctoral position at the University of Leuven in Belgium before returning to his current role in 2011.
His research focuses on mathematical modeling of cognitive and perceptual processes, psychopharmacology, and pedagogical research in tertiary education. He is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students, with opportunities available for projects investigating predictors of academic achievement and human performance on computationally challenging tasks like the Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP).
Dr Dry’s pedagogical research explores factors such as stress, motivation, metacognition, creativity, and perfectionism in relation to academic outcomes, including grades, satisfaction, and post-graduate employment. His cognitive modeling work examines how humans tackle complex optimization problems with apparent ease.
