Matthew Dell

Matthew Dell is a Senior Lecturer (Religious Education) at St Mary's University, appointed in 2018 as a full-time faculty member. He specializes in teacher training, particularly in School-Centred Initial Teacher Training and supports trainees' pedagogy and subject knowledge. He contributes to the PGCE programme and the MA Education course, focusing on research project development and leadership training.

Education: Holds a Bachelor of Theology (Hons), PGCE in Secondary Religious Education, a master's in Catholic School Leadership, and a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

Research & Professional Roles: Completed a Farmington Fellowship examining support needs for Religious Education tutors in teacher training. Active in professional organizations, including the Religious Education Council (representing Catholic Education Service) and founder/chair of the Association of Teachers of Catholic Religious Education (ATCRE). Serves as an experienced Diocesan inspector.
