Matthew Davey

Dr Matthew Davey is a plant physiologist and chemical ecologist affiliated with the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He serves as a Senior Research Associate there and as a Senior Lecturer at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS). His research focuses on metabolic diversity in natural and controlled ecosystems, with applications in bioenergy and high-value natural product innovation.

Research Interests: Dr Davey investigates plant metabolic processes across diverse environments, particularly in Antarctic terrestrial algae and plants through collaboration with the British Antarctic Survey. His work bridges ecological studies with industrial translation in fields of:
