Matthew Cooperman is a Full Professor of English at Colorado State University, specializing in Creative Writing. He teaches poetry workshops and courses on ecopoetics, the literature of the intermountain west, Black Mountain poetics, poetry of witness, and postmodern novels. His work bridges literary innovation with environmental and existential themes.

Cooperman co-edits Colorado Review and co-curates the EveryEye reading series with his wife, poet Aby Kaupang. He has held editorial roles at Quarter After Eight, an exploratory prose journal.
