Matthew Campbell

Matthew Campbell is a Professor at Oregon State University's School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering. An ASME Fellow and NSF CAREER awardee, his research automates engineering design through computational synthesis, graph theory, and AI.

Recent work (2023-2024) develops algorithms for additive manufacturing optimization and machine learning-based 3D modeling. He created open-source tools like GraphSynth and Planar Mechanism Kinematic Simulator. Teaching covers machine design and optimization courses.
