Matthew Boeding is an Instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University, affiliated with the College of Engineering. He holds an M.S. in Telecommunications Engineering (2022) and dual B.S. degrees in Computer Engineering and Mathematics (2020), both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Matthew’s research focuses on industrial network security, network latency in telerobotics, and machine learning-based wireless receivers, with a particular emphasis on 5G network security. His work bridges cybersecurity and telecommunications engineering, addressing challenges in secure industrial networking and next-generation wireless systems.
Matthew sponsors senior capstone projects and has developed courses on embedded systems, circuit board design, computer networks, assembly language programming, and firmware development. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he brings leadership and technical expertise to his academic and research roles.
