Matthew Bilik

Matthew Bilik is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theory at the School of Music, The Ohio State University. He previously served as Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Anderson University. His research focuses on French modernism, tonal procedures in pop/rock music, and music theory pedagogy.

His work explores modalism in early 20th-century French composers like Fauré, Debussy, and Boulanger, alongside tonal structures in popular music. He actively promotes integrating pop/rock forms into music education. Upcoming publications include an article in Intégral on Fauré and Duruflé.

Bilik is also an active composer and songwriter, often collaborating on creative projects outside academia.
