Matthew Betts

Matthew Betts is a Professor at the College of Forestry, Oregon State University, holding the Ruth Spaniol Chair. His research bridges Forest Ecology, Wildlife Ecology, and Landscape-scale Conservation.

His work focuses on ecological thresholds, animal movement, trophic cascades, and socio-political mechanisms in sustainable forestry. Recent studies quantify forest degradation impacts on biodiversity and develop reconciliation strategies for habitat fragmentation.
