Matthew Andrews

Matthew Andrews is a Teaching Professor and Departmental Advisor in History at UNC-Chapel Hill. His research examines connections between sports and American history, particularly how athletics reflect and shape politics, racial/gender identities, and social reform.

He hosts the 'American Sport' podcast exploring how sporting events influenced national debates about identity, capitalism, and social change. Courses include Sport and American History, Baseball History, Olympic Studies, and seminars on civil rights and boxing.

Education includes a Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill and B.A. from UCLA.
