Matthew Anderson holds the Gatto Chair in Christian Studies at St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in the Department of Religious Studies, with an affiliate assistant professor role at Concordia University, Montreal. Born on Treaty 4 territory to settler parents, he earned a PhD in Religious Studies from McGill University (1999). His work bridges biblical studies with contemporary issues, emphasizing decolonization, pilgrimage, gender, and environment.
