Matthew Adams is a Principal Lecturer at the University of Brighton's School of Humanities and Social Science. His research bridges psychology, ecology, philosophy, and history, focusing on human-animal relations, the Anthropocene, and arts-based methodologies. He holds an AHRC Fellowship investigating animal experimentation narratives through creative arts. His work challenges anthropocentric paradigms, emphasizing multispecies perspectives and climate crisis psychology. Adams teaches ecopsychology, climate psychology, and social psychology, advocating for interdisciplinary and creative research approaches.
Research Interests: Human-animal relations, posthumanities, climate change, qualitative and arts-based methods. He supervises PhD students on topics like multispecies ethics and climate activism.
