Matteo Bertocco

Matteo Bertocco is a Full Professor at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova. His academic career began in 1992 as a researcher, progressing to associate professor in 1998 and full professor since 2002. He has held significant administrative roles, including Rector's deputy for distance learning (2011-2013) and Director of the Doctoral School in Information Engineering for over 8 years starting from 2008.

• Graduated in Electronic Engineering (1987, full marks)

His research focuses on signal processing techniques for industrial and telecommunications systems, machine learning applications in predictive maintenance, and augmented sensor systems through data processing. He developed remote access techniques for instrumental laboratories, enabling e-learning programs and professional training collaborations with institutions like the Nettuno Consortium, CNIT Consortium (38 Italian universities), and Politecnico di Torino.

He has coordinated research projects funded by the European Union, National Public Bodies (e.g., INAIL), and Local Public Administrations. His work has resulted in over 150 publications and international patents. He actively collaborates with IEEE's Instrumentation and Measurement Society and is a member of CNIT and Quadrato della Radio (telecommunications directors' network).
