Matt Vergne serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, Lipscomb University, where he has held a faculty position since 2013.
His academic credentials include:
- PhD in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University
- BS in Chemistry from Harding University
Prior to joining Lipscomb, Dr. Vergne completed a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Analytical Chemistry Division and worked as a Senior Technical Support Specialist at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments. His research expertise centers on bioanalytical chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences, with specialized focus on analytical instrumentation systems for drug analysis and development. He manages the Pharmaceutical Sciences Bioanalytical Chemistry Research Core Lab within the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center, directing technical operations and instrumentation support for pharmaceutical research initiatives.
Dr. Vergne operates within Lipscomb's College of Health Sciences framework, which integrates pharmacy education with broader health science programs including Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, and Exercise Science. His technical leadership in analytical instrumentation supports both educational and research objectives within the pharmaceutical sciences curriculum.
