Matt Tegtmeyer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University. His research integrates stem cell biology, human genetics, and quantitative genomics to explore disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies. He holds adjunct positions as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Visiting Scientist at the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research (Broad Institute).
Education: Ph.D. in Neurogenetics from King’s College London (2023), completed in partnership with the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute.
Research focuses on four key areas: 1) Linking cellular/generative tools with genomic studies across species, 2) Human model systems for drug discovery with genetic treatment response analysis, 3) Developing computational methods for multi-omics data integration, and 4) Gene-editing applications for disease-associated genetic variants. Collaborations include the Broad Institute’s Stanley Center and AnalytiXIN.
Professional roles include affiliations with AnalytiXIN as a Research Fellow and active participation in psychiatric genomics research networks.
