Matt Stewart

Matt Stewart is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, affiliated with the School of Integrated Health Sciences and the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences. He joined UNLV in 2024 and teaches undergraduate courses, including statistics.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Movement Science from the University of Michigan (2023)
• Master of Science in Kinesiology from Iowa State University (2018)
• Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simpson College (2016)

Stewart’s research examines how built and social environments influence physical activity patterns, with a focus on physiological and psychological outcomes. He employs wearable devices and smartphone applications as measurement tools in his work.

He contributes to research as a reviewer and statistician on grants and is a first author on two scientific articles published in JMIR mHealth and Journal of Physical Activity and Health.
