Dr. Matt Peck is an Assistant Professor affiliated with the Institute of Biological Chemistry within the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University. His work bridges protein biochemistry research and STEM education innovation. He holds a PhD from Stanford University and a BA from Swarthmore College.

Research & Training: Peck focuses on enhancing STEM education ecosystems through training programs. He coordinates an NIH-funded T32 graduate training program in Protein Biotechnology, co-directs a USDA-supported REU for undergraduates, and collaborates on NIH-funded undergraduate initiatives. His efforts include mentorship trainings, program evaluation, and modular course development for graduate students through WSU-LIFT.
Advising & Grants: Leverages external funding (NIH/USDA) to support trainee counseling and faculty mentorship programs. Actively contributes to grant-writing and curriculum design.
Labs & Teams: Engaged with WSU-LIFT as a peer mentor and curriculum writer, fostering interdisciplinary research and education collaborations.
