Matt Myers is a Departmental Lecturer in Modern European History at Balliol College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on comparative and transnational European history during the late twentieth century, with expertise in labour movements, political activism, and post-colonial migration. He investigates the intersection of social change and political structures across Britain, France, and Italy from the 1960s to the 1990s, currently expanding this work through a long-term study of labour history.
His research examines labour's multifaceted relationship with politics, society, and culture, emphasizing transnational connections and migrant activism. Core themes include the evolution of leftist movements, working-class identity formation, and cross-border ideological exchanges that shaped modern Europe.
