Matt McIntosh is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Arkansas, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences. He teaches foundational and advanced courses in organic chemistry, including CHEM 3603, CHEM 3613, and graduate-level courses.
- Education: BA in Chemistry from Virginia Tech and PhD in Chemistry from Penn State University.
The McIntosh research group focuses on synthetic organic chemistry, particularly methods development and total synthesis of complex natural products like sclerophytin-A, massileunicellin-I, and antascomicin-B. Their work aims to validate natural product structures, enable biological testing, and discover novel organic reactions.
Recent publications highlight their innovations in allylic diazene rearrangements and radical [1,3] rearrangements, contributing to stereoselective synthesis and reaction mechanism understanding.
- Honors: Scholar-Lecture Award of Taiwan.
