He leads projects funded by Innovate UK and collaborates with organizations like the National Composites Centre and DLR.
- Education:
- MEng in Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham (2015)
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham (2020)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (2024)
Research interests span two key areas: sustainable chemical processes for recycling and clean fuels, and education methodologies leveraging AI. Recent projects include optimizing chemical recycling of plastics, bioplastics, and microalgae-based sustainable aviation fuels. His educational work explores ethical AI use in teaching and climate-conscious engineering education.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating modules like Product Design Exercise and Sustainable Process Engineering, alongside lab supervision and outreach activities for MSc Chemical Engineering. He actively contributes to the EPSRC Early Career Forum for Circular Economy and the British Plastics Federation Sustainability Committee.
Advising includes primary supervision of three PhD projects on bioplastics recycling, CFRP solvent techniques, and microalgae fuels, plus secondary supervision of magnet recycling research. Grant activity involves collaboration with SME Deeptech Recycling to scale chemical recycling processes.
