Jeovan Araujo

Jeovan Araujo is a researcher at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest, specializing in plastics engineering and sustainable materials. He holds a PhD in 'Towards Circularity for Petroleum- and Bio-Based Plastics: Tailoring Properties and End-of-Life Routes' awarded in 2024. His work focuses on biodegradation mechanisms, microbial upcycling of plastics, and circular economy systems.

Education:

• PhD in Chemical Engineering (2020-2024)

Research Interests: Developing biodegradable polymers, enhancing plastic recycling efficiency through microbial processes, and creating sustainable material composites using natural fillers. His recent studies explore Bacillus subtilis applications for PET degradation and curcumin-stabilized bioplastic films.
