Matt Flynn

Dr. Matt Flynn is an Adjunct Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Future Materials, University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), where he has worked since 2022 under the NO WASTE pilot precinct. His role involves characterizing waste materials and developing sustainable applications to divert them from landfill, alongside promoting sustainability education in local communities.

His research focuses on polymer chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and materials science, with applications in recycling and the bio-economy. At UniSQ, he collaborates with the Institute for Advanced Engineering and Space Sciences (IAESS) and previously conducted postdoctoral research at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT) in Germany, where he worked on bio-derived chemicals and novel polymer development.
