Dr. Matt Elliott is an Instructional Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University's J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2013), along with M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on advanced control systems for energy applications, machine design, and engineering education methodologies.
Research interests include:
- Model-based predictive control for HVAC systems
- Machine design optimization
- Innovative approaches to undergraduate engineering pedagogy
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on thermal management systems and control algorithms, with recent work expanding into agricultural applications of unmanned systems. He received the 2022 George R. Brown Teaching Award recognizing his educational contributions.
