Matt Davies is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance at Aston Business School, Aston University, and currently serves as Interim Director of MBA Programmes. He holds a MSc in Professional Accounting and Finance from Aston Business School. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he specializes in experiential learning methods such as business simulations and mobile gaming in accounting education, notably co-developing the FEFE mobile game funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and leads the National Finance Faculty for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme in the UK.
His research focuses on innovative teaching methods in accounting, shareholder value metrics, and corporate performance. Davies has received prestigious awards including the National Teaching Fellowship (2021) and the Student Experience Award (2018). He also volunteers as Trustee Treasurer for the charity Standing Tall. Teaching responsibilities include core MBA modules and executive education for small business leaders.
