Matt Boulter is a Lecturer in the School of Health and Life Sciences, specializing in sport and organizational psychology. His research focuses on group dynamics, personality psychology, and their application to team effectiveness and body image disorders. He is particularly interested in how teams resolve conflicts and how narcissism influences team cohesion and mental health outcomes. Boulter has expertise in quantitative methods including multilevel modeling and Bayesian statistics, using tools like Mplus and R.
Current projects include a collaboration with St. Mirren FC to develop psychosocial training curricula for youth football academies and examining conflict management strategies in sports teams. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications in both sports and organizational settings.
