Mathias Schulze

Mathias Schulze is a Professor of German Language and Literature in the Department of European Studies at San Diego State University (SDSU), and Director of the Language Acquisition Resource Center. He holds a PhD in Language Engineering (Applied Linguistics) from UMIST (now part of the University of Manchester). His career includes roles at universities in Sunderland, Manchester (UK), and Waterloo (Canada), where he directed the Waterloo Centre for German Studies. He has served as co-editor of the CALICO Journal (on Computer-Assisted Language Learning) for eight years.

Key research focuses include CALL (Computer-Assisted Language Learning), language education, and social bilingualism. He maintains blogs Texterium and Pantarhei Press. His work spans language acquisition methodologies, technology integration in education, and bilingualism studies.
