Mathew Schwartz is an Associate Professor at the School of Art and Design, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He has held prior roles, including Assistant Professor at the Hillier College of Arch and Design. His research focuses on interdisciplinary areas at the intersection of robotics, human-centered design, and urban planning. Key projects include NSF-funded initiatives such as Modeling Equitable and Accessible Public Spaces and Cognitive Models of Human Social Wayfinding.
His research interests span robotic systems, infrastructure modeling, design education, and human factors in architectural design.
