Dr. Mathew Mathews serves as Principal Research Fellow and Head of the Social Lab at the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), National University of Singapore. With over fifty research projects to his credit, he specializes in social policy analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. His work significantly contributes to Singapore's understanding of social dynamics and policy development.
Mathews' research focuses on critical social issues including race and religion relations, immigrant integration, family dynamics, ageing society challenges, and poverty alleviation. His approach combines rigorous academic research with practical policy applications, making substantial contributions to Singapore's social policy landscape.
