Professor Mateo Aboy is the Director of Research in Technology & Law at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Law (CIPIL) and the Centre for Law, Medicine & Life Sciences (LML). He holds multidisciplinary qualifications including PhDs in Law and Electrical Engineering, alongside professional certifications in IP, privacy, and engineering. His research focuses on the intersection of technology, law, and healthcare innovation, particularly in AI/quantum computing, biomedical devices, and data governance. He has authored over 150 scholarly articles and holds 20+ patents, co-founding APDM Wearable Technologies. His teaching spans engineering, law, and management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

As a patent practitioner, he has prosecuted cases before the USPTO and advises on tech-driven legal challenges. He collaborates with Stanford's Center for Responsible Quantum Technology and Inter-CeBIL (Harvard-Cambridge-Copenhagen).
