Mateja Jež Rogelj serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Agriculture within the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development and Division for Agroeconomy and Informatics. Her office is located in the 5th Pavilion, 1st floor, room 022, and she communicates via mrogelj@agr.hr.
She earned her PhD in Economy of Agriculture (2012-2017) with research on sustainable rural development modeling through multicriteria analysis, following graduate studies (2004-2010) examining cherry farm investment economics. Her academic trajectory includes roles as Young Researcher (2011-2018) and Postdoctoral Researcher (2018-2021) at the same institution.
Dr. Rogelj's research integrates Rural Development, Sustainable Development, and Agricultural Policy with empirical focus on socio-ecological resilience, family farm economics, and EU policy impacts. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with Croatian agricultural contexts through field-based economic modeling and policy analysis.
She coordinates University of Zagreb projects on rural economy diversification (2017), young farmer entrepreneurship (2016), and state support for family farms (2015), while partnering in Croatian Science Foundation research on rural socio-ecological systems (2020-2024) and EU-funded 'Arboretum Opeka' competence center development (2020-2023).
