معرفی
Matej Brešar is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Ljubljana and University of Maribor. He specializes in noncommutative algebra, functional identities, and zero product determined algebras, with applications spanning operator theory and Banach algebras. His research bridges nonassociative and associative algebra frameworks, addressing questions like Herstein’s Lie map conjectures.
He authored/co-authored over 150 papers and seminal books such as Functional Identities (2007) and Introduction to Noncommutative Algebra (2014), cited over 3,000 times. His work explores structural properties of algebras and their functional identities, with applications in linear algebra and operator theory.
- Awards: Associate Member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts
- Key Contributions: Pioneered studies on zero product determined algebras and functional identities in rings
Brešar delivered a 2018 mini-course on Functional Identities and Zero Product Determined Algebras at the Atlantic Algebra Centre, highlighting interdisciplinary connections between algebraic theories.
