Mascha Schulz is a Research Fellow at the Department of 'Anthropology of Politics and Governance' at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle, Germany, and part of the ECR project 'Religion and Its Others in South Asia and the World (ROSA).'
Her research interests include Non-Religion, Party Politics, Secularism, Activism, Anthropology of the State, Normativity, and Economic Anthropology, with regional focus on Bangladesh, South Asia, and Europe. She is actively involved in the Working Group: Political Assembly.
Her recent publications explore nonreligion studies, secularism in South Asian politics, and digital atheism, demonstrating interdisciplinary approaches connecting anthropology, political science, and religious studies.

Dr. Schulz has held previous academic positions as a lecturer at the University of Zurich (2015-2019), junior fellow at the Advanced Centre of Humanities and Social Science in Leipzig (2017/2018), and visiting PhD researcher at LSE (2018/2019).
