Masayo Fujimoto is a Professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Studies, Doshisha University (Kyoto, Japan). She serves as Dean of Doshisha University Graduate School and previously as Dean of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture. Her academic roles include Visiting Scholar positions at the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (France-Japan Foundation) and Associate Researcher at Laboratoire d'Economie et de Sociologie du Travail (France).
Her research focuses on sociology of work, sociology of professions, social mobility, and institutional change. She examines AI's impact on workplaces, labor market disparities between Japan and France, disaster resilience in SMEs, and organizational transformations in traditional industries.
